We often get a lot of questions about preparing for a weekend retreat

What to bring:

v     Bring any scrapbooking supplies, materials and projects that you want to work with through out the weekend! Aside from class times, everyone will be working on their own projects/pages using their own supplies. What and how much you bring is up to you. You have plenty of room at your table area so bring whatever you think you want to have with you. Some people pre-plan pages/projects and only bring the supplies and materials that they need to complete them – others bring everything but the kitchen sink! (And don’t forget your pictures!!)

v     Extension cords, power strips and lighting.  We make sure that the rooms and spaces that we use have plenty of electricity available, however due to the size of the rooms everyone will not be right at an outlet. We ask that if you will have the need for electricity for Cricuts, embossing materials, lights, etc. that you please bring any extra extension cords and / or power strips along with you.

v     While we ensure that everyone has a lot of space in their cropping area, if you are bringing along something such as a Cricut, laptop, printer, etc. we have found that a lot of people bring a TV table or  other small type of table along with them. This works out GREAT because you are able to have your equipment right at your side, without using up a lot of your crop table space!  A portable or stackable shelf (like found at Walmart or Target in the closet /shelving section) is also a good way to make the most of your cropping space. It allows you to have double the supplies and containers, etc in the same space!

v     We always choose places that have good lighting, however sometimes when we are working in the really large conference centers the way that the tables have to be placed can cause the lighting to not fall it’s best on the tables, so if you have a portable light, please feel free to bring it with you.

v     Be sure to wear comfy clothing and dress in layers if you are someone who gets cold or hot easily. With rooms as large as we often use, and the number of people we have in them it’s very hard to regulate the temperature to be exactly what each individual finds as the perfect comfort at all times as the temperatures tend to fluctuateJ

v     Don’t forget your PJ’s and slippers for our Saturday night PJ party! (Although a lot of people find it really comfortable to wear them every night – or all weekend for that matter, if you want!)

v     We always provide a few snack breaks and meals through out the weekend. What food breaks come with your retreat package will always be designated in our information/registration packets. With most of the facilities that we use it is stipulated in our contract that we CANNOT provide our attendees “outside food or beverages”, meaning I can only provide to you the food that is purchased through their on-site catering company.  Therefore if there is anything specific that you think you would like or need during the weekend (extra snacks, water, soda) then please bring it along with you. You may bring extra food and drinks in yourself, but due to our contract with the facilities, I cannot provide it to you.

v     Containers with lids are very handy during scrapbooking events! No one wants to have a liquid spilt on their pages or supplies so if you have a cup with a lid that’s always the safest route to go.  Tag –a –log drink holders are great!

v     Don’t forget to bring along extra money so you can shop at our vendor booths!
